Earth Prayer from Manitoba Buddhist Temple

We gently caress you, the Earth, our planet and our home.
Our vision has brought us closer to you, making us aware of the harm we have done to the life-network upon which we ourselves depend.
We are reminded that we have poisoned your waters, your lands, your air.
We have filled you with the bones of our dead from war and greed.
Your pain is our pain.
Touching you gently, we pray that we may become peace-bringers and life-bringers so that our home in its journey around the Sun not become a sterile and lonely place.
May this prayer and its power last forever.

Lord don’t move the mountain…

Lord don’t move the mountain,
But give me strength to climb it
Please don’t move that stumbling block,
But lead me Lord around it.

Lord don’t move the mountain,
But give me strength to climb it
Please don’t move that stumbling block,
But lead me Lord around it.

The way may not be easy,
You didn’t say that it would be
For when our tribulations get too light,
We tend to stray from Thee.
Hallelujah.

Lord don’t move the mountain,
But give me strength to climb it
Please don’t move that stumbling block,
But lead me Lord around it.

When my folk would slay me,
And these things they will try to do
Lord, don’t touch him but within his heart,
Make him give his Heart to you.

Lord don’t move the mountain,
But give me strength to climb it
Please don’t move that stumbling block,
But lead me Lord around it.

No human being is ever beyond redemption…

“Not every story has a happy ending, … but the discoveries of science, the teachings of the heart, and the revelations of the soul all assure us that no human being is ever beyond redemption. The possibility of renewal exists so long as life exists. How to support that possibility in others and in ourselves is the ultimate question.”

Unarmed truth and unconditional love

Do not call to mind the former things…

“Do not call to mind the former things,
Or ponder things of the past.
Behold, I will do something new, now it will spring forth;
Will you not be aware of it?
I will ever make a roadway in the wilderness,
Rivers in the Desert…” ~Isaiah 43:18-19

Frida y Diego

“Diego is neither defeatist or sad. He is primarily a researcher, a builder, but on top of everything, an architect. No matter whether his composition is a painting, a house, or an argument.” ~ Frida Kahlo

“It is said that revolution doesn’t need art, but that art needs a revolution. That is not true. Revolution needs a revolutionary art.” ~ Diego Rivera

“Perhaps you are writing to hear my laments about how much one suffers living with a man like Diego. But I do not believe that the banks of a river suffer by letting it run.” ~ Frida Kahlo

“I knew the battlefield of suffering was reflected in my eyes. From then on I started to look directly into the lens, without blinking, without smiling, determined to show that I would be a good fighter until the end. ” ~Frida Kahlo

Hafiz: Ghazal 1

O beautiful wine-bearer, bring forth the cup and put it to my lips
Path of love seemed easy at first, what came was many hardships.
With its perfume, the morning breeze unlocks those beautiful locks
The curl of those dark ringlets, many hearts to shreds strips.
In the house of my Beloved, how can I enjoy the feast
Since the church bells call the call that for pilgrimage equips.
With wine color your robe, one of the old Magi’s best tips
Trust in this traveler’s tips, who knows of many paths and trips.
The dark midnight, fearful waves, and the tempestuous whirlpool
How can he know of our state, while ports house his unladen ships.
I followed my own path of love, and now I am in bad repute
How can a secret remain veiled, if from every tongue it drips?
If His presence you seek, Hafiz, then why yourself eclipse?
Stick to the One you know, let go of imaginary trips.

Prayer for true love

May divine grace be your companion as you hold the vision in stillness
And find the faith that true love is real;
May the path be clear for you to act in wisdom
Know courage in devotion,
And find laughter along the way.
May you be enriched by the wonder and majesty of love.
Love that tends to all, love that cares, love that IS in the silence.
May true love be the expression of power in the world
And may we be the ones to bring it.
